Captured this little girl getting her shoes/sneakers cleaned with a brush and presumably soap/detergent. She finds the process very interesting. The cleaner must have charged Rs 10 for the job.

What you gather from the photo is this:
1. The girl is from the South. She is presumably Tamilian. That is why you finding those shocking red socks worn with blue sneakers.
2. The girl's dress must have been purchased in a Delhi market, where lots of such fancy dresses are obtained cheaply.

Sorry about getting the other kids into my shot in the bottom right foreground. Couldn't help it. Was rushed for time. I was very keen to try out my new Nokia N72.

This poor little girl
Was eating an orange
On the steps.
I said, ' Little girl, look up!'
And caught her by surprise.

You can see that she is poor
By the vitamin deficiency marks
On her face.

Walking through the Park
With my cameraphone
I saw this little child
Standing with her hands
On the park bench.
Needed to capture this
For posterity.
Is the draped with
The American flag?
Like the lines of the bench
Her sweater
And the shadows behind
Not to mention
The stars and stripes.
